About

Five struggling comics inherit a vacant comedy club in the heart of New York City.  Unfortunately, they have few business skills, huge insecurities, and challenges out the wazoo.  Can this amusing and neurotic bunch of hacks pull together to find success? Or will they drive each other to their wits’ end?

After inheriting Wit’s End from eccentric millionaire, Wittaker Endicott, the comedians quickly realize they’re in way over their heads.

For starters, the club is in worse shape than it looks and soon becomes a monstrous money pit. They face cutthroat competition from the owner of a neighboring comedy club. And they are ill-prepared to deal with the overblown egos of the headliners they book at the club.  On top of all of that, a woman claiming to be Wit’s distant cousin files papers to contest the will. Meanwhile, the comics continue to theorize about Wit’s disappearance and death after receiving mysterious messages from an anonymous tipster claiming that Wit is still alive.

However, the greatest challenge these comics will face is themselves.  Carey, the practical voice-of-reason, feels pulled between motherhood and her career.  Mitchell, the naïve reality  TV survivor, is on a quest for true love which interferes with his ability to focus. Nancy, the brash party queen, misses being on the road and having the spotlight to herself. Ophira, the brainy Canadian, uses sarcasm to hide her darker moods as she searches for life’s meaning. Shecky, the psychic-addicted insomniac, is a loose cannon who operates best under total chaos, especially  while creating it for everyone around her.

Can these five unique and quirky comedians successfully work together despite their obvious differences and conflicts?  Or will their individual desires — for fame, fortune, and attention— ultimately prevent them from pulling together as one?

By signing the contract and agreeing to run Wit’s club, the comics have legally bound themselves to each other — for better or worse —  for at least the next three years.  And they obviously have no idea what they’ve gotten themselves into.
